SEBI chief Tuhin Kanta Pandey today said that all outstanding issues in the IPO of NSE (National Stock Exchange) will be resolved shortly.

The markets regulator has flagged various concerns with the NSE’s IPO proposal.

SEBI’s concerns highlight the compensation given to key management personnel, technology and the majority ownership in Clearing Corporation, among others.

“All the outstanding issues will be resolved and we will move forward...NSE and Sebi are talking, they are resolving the issues and I'm very hopeful, it will be cleared and will move forward,” Pandey told reporters at an event organised by Assocham.

The IPO plans have remained stuck for eight years now. The stock exchange filed its draft papers in 2016 to raise ₹10,000 crore via offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders, who are looking forward to selling 22% of the company’s stake.

However, SEBI rejected the approval citing regulatory concerns pertaining to governance and the co-location matter.

As per 2024 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500, NSE is the 10th-most valuable private company having a value of ₹4.7 lakh crore.
